On Top Of The World - Jennifer + Damien Engagement

I don't capture weddings anymore. I haven't in a few years. It seems though, in the past year I've had a crazy amount of requests and even a few bribes. I think you should love what you do and it reflects in your work. I don't love photographing weddings. I love attending them, I love helping design them, I love the idea of a big beautiful wedding, but I don't love being THAT photographer. However, I do miss engagement sessions. I get a few here and there but not many, as most wedding photographers offer complimentary engagement session with a wedding package. When I received a message from Miss Jennifer and she stated how much she loved my work and was hoping I could photograph her engagement and wedding photos, I was humbled but disappointed that I knew I didn't offer everything she wanted. However, after our phone consult she decided she loved me enough to have me capture her and Damien's engagement session. 
I believe you should "click" (pun intended) with your photographer. During our design consultation everything felt super easy. I love when I get to meet a client and just know I can deliver something they'll absolutely love. We planned for beautiful fall color at Eagle Point Park in Dubuque Iowa and then a beautiful country location (with an AMAZING view) in Scales Mound Illinois. It took us three reschedules to FINALLY get this amazing session accomplished. Mother nature sucked all the fun out of October this year. Rain, snow, and wind did not help with my session schedule. However all good things come to those who wait. 
I think it's easy to see how laid back, effortless, and fun this young couple's love is from their session. From sexy cereal brands (LOL) to climbing a mountain, I loved spending time with Jennifer and Damien. The light, the location, and the love was so beautiful on this fall evening. I want to thank both Jennifer and Damien for trusting me to capture the beginning of their new love story. I wish them nothing but the best as they plan for their beautiful wedding and future together. Enjoy!
