Quiet, confident, and intentional — that’s the best way to describe Connor. He’s the kind of young man who knows what he likes, stands firm in his opinions, and once he opens up, brings an easy humor that makes the entire session feel relaxed and fun. I truly enjoyed every moment working with him and his family.
We began Connor’s session in the woods, right in the middle of a country road, to capture his trap portraits and that rustic, outdoorsy feel he was hoping for. Every outfit he and his mom chose was absolutely perfect — rich textures, earthy tones, and a style that naturally fit both Connor’s personality and our environment.
From there, we headed into the Historic Millwork District for a shift in mood — something more urban, modern, and laid-back. Connor’s relaxed style looked incredible against the worn brick, industrial metal, and warm tones of the district. One of my favorite spots was a stairwell that made his eyes pop beautifully. We also shot on the rooftop, capturing bold lines, natural light, and the quiet confidence that defines him.
Our next stop was a stunning overlook of the Mississippi River. The sunset that evening could not have been more perfect. We photographed under the bridge, into the soft glow of the sun, and finally with the horizon lit up behind him. This part of the session included a few meaningful, personal touches that added a deeper layer to the story — a quiet strength and determination that came through so naturally. And the dusk portraits, just as the last bit of light slipped away, may be some of my favorites of the day.
A few days later, we reunited for one more part of his senior experience — dirt bike portraits. Connor loves anything with a motor, and I quickly learned he and my mom (my assistant) could talk engines all day. The light on the bridge, the dramatic sky, and Connor with his bike created images that are bold, striking, and so authentically him.
This family traveled a long distance, endured multiple weather-related reschedules (including a tornado and flooding!), and handled all of it with so much grace. Getting to know Connor was such a pleasure. He is a wonderful young man with a big heart tucked inside his reserved personality, and I am grateful I could capture this milestone for him.
Thank you, Connor and family, for trusting me with these memories.
Enjoy.
