Every once in a while, a senior comes along who feels like an old soul — calm, grounded, thoughtful — yet quietly hilarious and full of personality once you really get to know them. That’s Oliver. Working with him and his family was an absolute joy from beginning to end.
For Oliver’s senior session, we wanted to highlight every layer of who he is: classic, stylish, a little edgy, deeply rooted, and full of quiet confidence.
We started in the historic Millwork District of Dubuque, where Oliver absolutely owned an incredible blue suit. Between the rich color, the clean lines, and those striking eyes, this look was perfection against the industrial backdrop. It gave such a professional, polished vibe — the kind of images that will look timeless for years to come.
From there, we shifted into something with a little more urban edge. The aviators made a few appearances (and I was not mad about it). They were the perfect finishing touch for his more modern, street-style look.
Next stop: Benton for trap portraits — but with Oliver’s signature sense of style. These weren’t your traditional trap photos. He brought personality, confidence, and an elevated vibe that made these portraits feel fresh and unique.
Then it was off to the graffiti tunnel. Leather jacket on, textures everywhere, and just the perfect amount of grit. This part of the session was one of my favorites because it revealed yet another layer of who Oliver is. And tucked quietly into the artwork? His favorite Bible verse — a special request from his mom. No spray paint was used, don’t worry. Just a lot of editing magic and a meaningful detail that made the images even more personal.
We ended our evening chasing the sunset. Oliver’s faith is a big part of his life, and he wanted portraits that reflected that — quiet, natural, light-filled, and honest. With his Bible in hand and golden light glowing around him, these images captured something truly intimate and authentic.
Oliver, thank you — and thank you to your wonderful family. You were all so warm, so trusting, and so open to every creative idea I threw your way. I absolutely adored working with you and cannot wait to see where your journey leads next. You are an impressive young man with so much light to offer the world.
Enjoy.
