Marissa has been such a joy to have on the Class of 2026 Candid Crew. She has one of the sweetest hearts, a bubbly personality that instantly lights up the room, and the cutest little nose wrinkle when she laughs — something that’s guaranteed to make everyone around her smile. She has such a natural way of connecting with people and helping conversation flow, which made every group shoot with her a joy.
As a senior rep, Marissa took part in several of our over-the-top stylized sessions, but her personal senior session was something truly special. We started on her family’s property, capturing some absolutely stunning water portraits in the creek. The old tree with its exposed roots hovering above the water brought back memories of the fairy session I photographed for Marissa and her sisters when they were little — a beautiful full-circle moment. Her teal dress was breathtaking against the natural backdrop, and it couldn’t have suited her more perfectly.
Next, we made our way to her great-grandmother’s farm — a place that holds generations of family history. It was such a meaningful experience to create portraits in a location so deeply tied to her family’s story. The golden light, her soft and elegant wardrobe choice, and the sentimental setting all came together for the kind of portraits that truly tell a story.
We ended the evening in a vibrant flower field, where the yellow blooms and soft summer air gave us one of the most beautiful sunsets of the season. Marissa’s choice to wear a simple black top created the perfect contrast among all that color — bold, timeless, and effortlessly stunning. Those final portraits, relaxed and full of warmth, felt like the perfect way to end our time together.
Marissa, thank you — and thank you to your family — for trusting me to capture this incredible milestone. It’s been such an honor watching you grow into this confident, kind, and genuine young woman. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things your future holds.
