Miss Natalie - Class of 2023

This senior season has been full of firsts for the studio. I've had some pretty epic sessions that I'm so excited to share and to kick off a "first" is Miss Natalie, a Class of 2023 Senior from Lancaster High School. Not only has Miss Natalie been part of my Rep Team this year, The Candid Crew, but she has literally grown up in front of my camera. I've been photographing her family for the past 9 years and it's been a joy to see her grow into the beautiful young lady she is today. 

For Natalie's session we visited the beautiful Dubuque Arboretum to capture the gorgeous flowers, waterfalls, and ponds. I adore the fact that she chose a cute pair of overalls for her session. It's so very Natalie and a stark contrast to the rest of very dramatic session. We were feeling all the boho and retro vibes with this session. Between a touch of 90s and a bit of a nod to the 70's we took on a gorgeous wrought iron bridge at sunset. The golden hour was a perfect end to this session. I must admit she seemed a little too excited when I said "splash the water towards me, thanks Natalie!

Now on to a first. For a touch of drama Natalie and her mom arranged for us to shoot her gorgeous prom dress inside the beautiful Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque. These portraits are just stunning. From the dress, to the location, the dramatic lighting, and the stunning senior, it was an absolute dream morning.
